Date Posted: 22-Nov-2019

Recently TMS group in cooperation with Videotel has developed a computer based training course on PANASIA’s Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems (Scrubbers) which are being retrofitted on TMS dry and tanker fleets. This bespoke computer based training course will guide and assist our engineers with the operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of the Scrubbers.

Cardiff Crewing’s in-house training department provides company specific training for the benefit of our seafarers to help them enhance their knowledge, skills and competence as well as to assist their career development.

The training department continuously updates and enhances the training program for our principals TMS Bulkers, TMS Dry, TMS Cardiff Gas, & TMS Tankers, through close co-operation with the TMS Training Consultant Captain Stuart Fraser who has over 15 years’ experience in maritime training and mentoring in the Philippines.

The entire 10th floor of the De Leon Center Building is home to Cardiff’s training department with 5 classrooms and a Computer Based Training Area (CBT) featuring 26 workstations where over a hundred training modules from both Seagull & Videotel are available for our seafarers free of charge. With 8 dedicated instructors with both deck and marine engineering backgrounds the in-house training program focusses on topics such as maritime resource management, leadership & teamwork, cultural awareness, which are commonly known as the “Soft Skills” as well as environmental management, safety on board, the understanding of our HSQE management systems, planned maintenance software, and other new technology on TMS vessels such as Exhaust Gas Cleaning & Ballast Water Treatment Systems.
